Frequently Asked Questions

What is covered under Graphic Design? Can I get a logo?

Yes, you can get anything you like that would fall under graphic design and creative services.

What do you mean by response time and use of hours? How does this affect turnaround time?

Don’t worry, I can be flexible on your hourly usage since this can vary depending on your project. The above list is a guideline and suggested usage of the hours in your retainer per week. I work with multiple clients on a wide range of projects with specific needs and size and good creativity takes time and attention to detail. In today’s fast-pace world, I often find my creative services fall into the “Create-On-Demand” market, and so this is mainly how we will manage time and priority towards your specific project needs and remain fair to others with similar demands. Response time also covers questions and deliverables such as proofs, comps and other correspondences. If you feel your project needs to use up time more fluidly, simply let me know so that I can plan accordingly.

Why are there limited hours per week?

I love what I do, and all my clients are awesome! But it can get overwhelming when everyone needs everything at once. I’ve also experienced multiple demand for my creative services while still having outstanding invoices versus those who have, and continue to make their payments on time. The hour limits help me to maintain fairness, and keep control over correct time to project management.

Do you work weekends?

No, unfortunately I normally do not work weekends. If you do have an emergency, and you do need work done over the weekends. Please inquire about availability and additional fees.

Why is web design not included in a package?

Websites can take a little or a lot of work and tend to vary from project needs, and expectations. After consulting with you on a website project I will develop a quote and timeframe for review. Also due to the nature of web development and design, these projects require deposits that are usually based on a larger fees then what is covered above.

Can I call you or text message at anytime?

Please email me first. This is the fasted way to get my attention and response. I don’t keep my phone at my side as much as I am online and unscheduled calls will most likely not be answered right away. I am happy to schedule phone calls during the work week used towards the hours that you purchase.

How will my project be managed?

With technology today we can work just about anywhere in the world and still collaborate as a team. With your Retainer Package you will also get access to your own work-space via Basecamp. Here we can share files, check schedules and deadlines, and correspond as we keep track of your project or projects. You also can even invite one or more people from your office into your work space too; depending on your retainer package and the size of your project.

What if we decide the package needs more hours can I add on or do I have to buy another whole new retainer?

Sometimes the scope of the project can get away from us. If more hours are needed we can discuss the changes and negotiate more hours and see if purchasing another retainer will cover extra work hours. The option also to discuss “odd” hours can be discussed too. Say you purchased 30 hours and decide you need more time and more work done. For example say you have a last minute flyer or postcard. You can purchase another 4 plus hours and add to your account at the current package rate and add it to your account if purchase within that same week, and use them because and use them as part of the current retainer. Of course if the additional hours run into the next rate level, you will get that new rate for the additional hours.

Does my hours expire?

Yes, they do. But not for 6 months. So for half a calendar year from the date of purchase, you don’t have to worry! If you have hours left over you will still have a designer and creative professional in your pocket for a year. This allows me to remain fair with time and commitment to all my clients and their creative needs.

I think I already have outstanding invoices from you. Can I use any hours towards these bills?

No. Unfortunately being that work is already done and invoiced means that the hours I spent working for you are no longer available and I haven’t been paid for my time yet. Further I am working towards a “Pay for Access” retainer system. This means you are guaranteed my time and services and general invoicing after work done will be phased out due to unpredictable payments made on demand work. But don’t worry if you have a project that has already been in the works before June 1, 2017. You will be invoiced after as usual. anything after June 1, will need to be done under the new retainer pay system.

Can you invoice me for my retainer?

Sure, yes I can invoice you for your retainer. But still keep in mind this will not take effect until it is paid in full to activate your hours.

The retainer portals go to PayPal, can I use other payment methods?

Yes, you can! As mentioned above you can request an electronic invoice in which you can pay instantly with credit card, or you can mail a check to the address on the attached printable PDF copy. Again your hours will activate once payment is received.

How will my hours be calculated as they used?

I always do my best to work and utilize time for the best possible outcome. I will simply use the minimum per week limit. Any extra time I may use over a minimum hours per week is on me. This may happen because I decide that I want to do a little more on your project just because of my own new ideas to better help you get the best outcome for your creative goals. So I won’t charge you if I wake up in the middle of the night and go “Eureka! I would really like to present this idea instead.” In other words; If I do take it upon myself to do any extra work, that totally on me.

I’m not sure how many hours I may need and have more Questions?
